Keep the Business
Open and Covered
General liability, commercial property and BOP packages for Nashville trades, shops and offices. I write the coverage your contracts require and explain the certificate before you sign it.
Most small business policies are built from the same pieces. What changes is the limits your contracts and your landlord require.
General Liability
Third-party injury and property damage. This is the coverage almost every contract and landlord asks you to carry.
Commercial Property
Your building, tenant improvements, inventory, tools and equipment.
Business Owners Policy
Liability and property bundled for small operations. Usually the better price than buying the parts separately.
Business Income
Pays the bills while you are shut down after a covered loss. The coverage owners regret skipping.
Commercial Auto
Vehicles titled to the business, plus hired and non-owned exposure when employees drive their own cars for work.
Tools & Equipment
Inland marine coverage for what moves job to job. A personal policy will not pay for stolen work tools.
Certificate requirements you have not read
Contracts often demand specific limits, additional insured status and waiver of subrogation. Buying the wrong policy means failing the audit.
Business income set too low
Coverage is written for a period of restoration. If it takes six months to reopen, a three-month limit leaves you paying the rest.
Hired and non-owned auto
An employee running an errand in their own car can pull the business into the claim. This endorsement is cheap and often absent.
Employees classified wrong
Payroll and class codes drive the premium. Getting them wrong means a surprise bill at audit, in either direction.
No cyber or crime coverage
Funds transfer fraud and ransomware are not general liability claims. Small businesses are the common target.
Certificates of insurance
Need a certificate for a job or a landlord, call or email and I will issue it. Send me the exact wording the other party requires so it passes the first time.
Bring to your quote call
Your current declarations pages, annual revenue, payroll by role, a list of vehicles and equipment, and any contract that spells out required limits.
